AUSTRALIAN PARTICIPATION IN THE SINAI
PEACEKEEPING FORCE
In my statement to the Parliament on 22 October, I announced
the terms of the Government's decision concerning Australian
participation in the Sinai Peacekeeping Force.
I stated that:
" the Government has decided that Australia will agree to
participate in the Sinai Peacekeeping Force subject to
Britain ar'd Canada also agreeing to participate. In the

PRESIDENT REAGAN'S PEACE PLAN
Last night, President Reagan issued an invitation to all nations
to join in the quest for peace, security and freedom across
the globe. I welcome this invitation.
Successive Australian Governments have worked hard to secure
balanced and verifiable arms control measures and for an improved
nuclear non-proliferation regime which would prevent both the
spread of nuclear weapons and their qualitative improvement.

OPENING OF NEW PREMISES FOR EASTERN SUBURBS NEWSPAPERS
It is a pleasure to be here today to open these new premises
which are symbolic of the success of Eastern Suburbs Newspapers
, in the printing and publishing field.
This firm has been involved in newspapers and printing since
the Hannan family took over the local Randwick newspaper
in the 1930s and, in fact, Francis Hannan first started
business in Randwick in 1887, so the origins of the progressive
enterprise which is . reflected by these splendid new premises

ELECTORATE TALK.
The Commonwealth Government took the decision to proceed without
further delay towards proclamation of the Cairns section of
the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park after about two years of
' discussion and negotiation with the Queensland government
about the boundaries. We felt that it was time for decisions
to be made and I had indicated earlier in the year that the
Commonwealth's patience was not inexhaustible.

CAIRINS SECTION OF THE GREAT BARRIER REEF MARINE PARK
The Great Barrier Reef is one of the wonders of the world.
It is a focus of national pride, and all Australians treasure
