DEATH OF SIR KEITH AICKIN
I was saddened to learn of the death of Sir Keith
Aickin. Sir Keith brought to the High Court, to
which he was appointed in 1976, the skills of one
of Australia's most eminent constitutional and
commercial lawyers. He served the High Court and the
country with distinction. His quiet, courteous
manner and the wisdom of his advice earned him
the respect and affection of all who came in
contact with him.
I extend my sympathy to Lady Aickin and the family.

ADDRESS TO ROTARY CLUB DINNER, CAMDEN
It has been a busy day, but it has been an enjoyable one
in a wonderful part of Australia. I am delighted that
you have asked me to speak to you in this combined dinnermeeting,
because Rotarians epitomise so much of what is good
in Australia, so much of what makes all of us I believe,
very proud to be Australian. It not only promotes goodwill
within its own communities, but what Rotarians do helps to
build a nation, to improve on its own community, but then that

VICTORIAN GOVERNMENT THREAT TO BAN NUCLEAR SHIPS
I regret deeply the unilateral statement by the
