I have heard a lot of people here tonight calling
out " Let's have a referendum" but you know they are the same
people who won't even let us have a meeting. There is not
much point in having a referendum if we can't have a meeting.
My purpose here tonight and I won't, of course, be
deterred from it by the noise of those who come here to break
up a meeting is to speak in support of our Liberal

ON VIETNAM POLICY
Statement by the Prime Minister, Mr. Harold Holt
The Government Parties devoted a major part of their
available time at their regular Joint Party Meeting today to a
discussion of criticisms by Australian Labour Party Members and
others of Australian participation in military activities in
South Vietiam and the inclusion of national service troops in
the milita1y task force to be despatched to that country.

Tribute by the Prime Minister, Mr. Harold Holt
I am deeply saddened to learn of the passing
of Sir Dallas Brooks, He was one of the most popular and most able
Governors to serve in Australia and endaeared himself to
the people of Victoria during what became a record period of
office. Indeed, he could be said to have established
a new concept of his office carin his activities through
all sections of the community an maing all feel his friend.

RURAL CREDIT
Statement by the Prime Minister, Mr. Harold Holt
The Prime Minister announced tonight that as
foreshadowed in his statement to the House of Representatives
on 8th March he, the Minister for Trade and Industry and the
Treasurer heid discussions today with the General Managers of
the major trading banks and the Governor of the Reserve Bank on
proposals for new and extended farm loan facilities.
The main proposals put forward by the Government
were That a new system of Farm Loan Funds should be

REPORT OF THE NATIONAL RADIATION
ADVISORY COMMITTEE NOVEMBER 1965
I lay on the table of the House the Report dated
November, 1965 of the National Radiation Advisory Committee.
In pursuance of its function of advising the
Commonwealth Government, through the Prime Minister, on
matters concerning the effects of ionizing radiation on the
Australian community, the N. R. A. C. reviewed during 1965 those
matters studied by the Committee since it presented its
previous Report in July, 1962.

CORAL SEA GUEST
Statement by the Prime Minister, Mr. Harold Holt
Vice-Admiral Paul Ramsey, Deputy Chief of Naval
Operations ( Air) United States Navy, will come to Australia
for the Coral Sea Celebrations this year.
Admiral Ramsey will arrive in Australia on Sunday,
1st May, for a sixteen-day visit. He will go to all States
and Canberra, his itinerary being as follows
