PRIME MINISTER'S VISIT TO ASIA
The broad itinerary for the visit by the Prime Minister,
Mr. Holt, to Asia has now been determined. Mr. Holt will be visiting
Cambodia, Laos, Taiwan and Korea at the invitation of the Governments of
those countries. Mr. Holt will fly by Qantas to Singapore where he will spend
the night of 28th March. He will then travel by a RAAF Viscount to Cambodia
( 29th March/ 3lst March), Laos ( 1st April/ 2nd April), Hong Kong ( transit to

GOVERNOR-GENERAL TO VISIT BRITAIN
Statement by the Prime Minister, Mr. Harold Holt
With the concurrence of the Government, the
Governor-General and ' he Lady Casey will leave Australia towards the
end of April for a short visit to Britain. They expect to be away from
Australia for five or six weeks.
The Governor -General will report personally to
Her Majesty whilst he is in London.
Lord and Lady Casey will travel to and from Britain
by air but date of departure and other details have not yet been settled

CABINET DISCUSSIONS WITH MR. BOWDEN
The Australian Cabinet today held discussions with the Secretary
of State for Commonwealth Affairs, Mr. Bowden, on a wide range of
current topics. Among the items discussed were the Kennedy Round, British
moves towards entry into the Common Market, British Defei ce policy, Viet
Nam and Rhodesia. In introducing Mr. Bowden to Cabinet, Mr. Holt explained that
the meeting offered an opportunity for the Australian Cabinet to hear first

I have appointed Mr. G. D. Erwin, M. the Member for
Ballarat, Victoria, as the Government Party Whip in the House of
Representatives. His assistant will be Mr. D. J. Killen, M. the Member
for Moreton, Queensland. Both Mr. Erwin and Mr. Killen entered the Federal
Parliament in 1955. Mr. Erwin has served on various committees and has been

had been further discussion in the course of the visit to
Canberra of Mr. Reece of the arrangements to apply to relief of
hardship from the Tasmanian bushfires and mattcrs of
rehabilitation. The Treasurer, Ir. Hc'Mahon and Mr. Howson, the
Commonwealth's Liaison inister for purposes connected with
bushfire assistance had participated in the talks between the
Prime Mlinister and Mr. Reece.
