it's very hard to make any comments upon Dr Caldicott's
own comments because they are so emotional and many of them
false. Obviously Dr Caldicott received some different advice
after her initial outburst because she was reported as saying
quite different things at the rally subsequently about myself
and what I could do and so on. I think that the subject is such
anl important one that it warrants rational discussion and not;

The Gallipoli Legion of ANZACS of Australia recently wrote to me asking that the Australian Government approach the Turkish Authorities in an effort to have that part of the Gallipoli Peninsula where the ANZAC landing took place 69 years ago formally renamed Anzac Cove.

The Legion has also suggested that some part of Australia be named to commemorate the bravery of the Turkish soldiers who took part in those bloody battles.

AUSTRALIA-CHINA IRON AND STEEL
I have been surprised by the negative speculation over the
holiday period about the prospects for co-operation between
the iron and steel industries of Australia and China.
The reality is that there has been rapid progress on the
China iron and steel initiative, with commitment and
enthusiasm in China matching that in Australia.
The negative speculation has arisen from the interaction of
widespread misunderstanding of the initiative, with

The Governor-General in Council has approved a proclamation
that ' Advance Australia Fair' is now Australia's national
anthem.
The royal anthem, ' God Save the Queen', is to be used only'
in the presence of the Queen or a member of the Royal
Family in Australia on an official visit.
The Vice-Regal salute now consists of the first four bars and
the last four bars of ' Advance Australia Fair'.
The Governor-General's proclamation was issued in a special
gazette earlier today.
