TEXT OF THE PRIME MINISTER'S ADDRESS AT THlE OPENING OF THE
AUSTRALIAN-AMERICAN ASSOCIATION FESTIVALThe
American revolution 200 years ago marked a tremendous victory
for men and women who wanted to be free free to control the
affairs of their own country and their own lives.
Men and women around the world fighting for freedom still look to
the United States because of that revolution as an inspiration.
Men such as Alexander Solzenitsyn remind us that freedom is still

Prime Minister Malcolm Fraser and Deputy Prime Minister
Doug Anthony, welcomed the fact that Goff Letts, Majority
Leader of the Legislative Assembly, his Deputy Grant Tambling
-and other members had come to Canberra for discuss ions.
Tile discussions had b. Ieen useful and constructive coi-cerning
a number of aspects of concern to Territorians and to the
Legislative Assembly of the Territory.
Amongst major matters discussed was the question of legislation
concerning Aboriginal land rights.

Field Marshall Montgomery was one of the great soldiers
of our time.
He served the allied cause nobly during World War II; he
won a great victory at El Alemein. Australians were part
of that victory.
The Field Marshall was not only a'great soldier, but after
the war was active in the pursuit of peace.
He was one of the great citizens of the world and lived part
of his life in Australia.
We all owe him a great debt and are saddened by his death.

VISIT B. Y THR VICE-PRES. IDEN. T. OF THE. UNITED STATES
The Vice-President of the United States ( Mr Nelson Rockefeller)
and Mrs Nelson Rockefeller will visit Australia as part of the
U. S. Bi-Centennial Celebrations next week.
After visiting Canberra on Tuesday 30 March the Vice-President
will travel to Sydney on Wedensday 31 March and leave for
overseas on Thursday morning 1 April.

ELECTORAL TALK
Just on 100 days ago the Australian people elected the
Liberal-National Country Party coalition to lead the nation
for the next three years.
They rmade-no bones about what they wanted.
First, they asked us to rescue the nation from a level of
inflation and unemployment that was attacking the social
fabric of every section of society. A~ climate of uncertainty,
doubt, and fear put strong pressure on family relationships.
