INTERVIEW WITH PETER HARVEY, NATIONAL NINE NETWORK ECONOMY
Question
Prime Minister a lot of people are understandably very concerned.
about interest rates, so much so that the New South Wales
Premier has today,: and I understand the Victorian Premier is
going to bring in, some sort of guarantee scheme to protect
people, they say, from losing their homes. How concerned are
you about the problem that this sort of reaction in political
terms represents?

The Cain Labor Government's new probate tax is punitive and
discriminatory. It is not just a tax, it is a confiscatory
z-ppropriation. Thirty nine cents in the dollar is a punitive
rate by any measure, and the rate is the same whether you are
at the bottom or at the top.
It is not a tax on the rich. The limit of $ 200,000 is not
high. Many ordinary people with a house and a superannuation
policy will be caught. People with a house and a small business

THE AUSTRALIAN FLAG
Why does the Labor Party want to cause divisiveness in
Australia by seeking to change the Australian Flag?
Labor is now committed to getting rid of our Flag.
The Australian Flag was chosen by Australians for Australia.
Many thousands of men and women have fought and died under it.
Our Flag stands for the free way of life that Australians
cherish. It is a symbol of liberty to refugees and oppressed people
from around the world.
*,, Both main Political Parties have chosen it for their emblem.

ELECTORATE TALK
The Minister for Education recently announced Commonwealth
education funding for 1983 of almost $ 3,000 million.
Since this announcement there has been some discussion about
the Commonwealth Government's education policy, and it is
important to look at some of the key questions, especially
about school funding, in a broader context.
There has been a tremendous increase in the allocation of
the nation's resources to education over the last ten years
