MEDIA RELEASE VISIT TO URANIUM AREAS IN THE NORTHERN TERRITORY

for National Resources and Minister for Overseas
Trade, the Rt. Hon. J. D. Anthony, M. P.
.1I will be visiting the uranium areas in the Northern
Territory at the weekend.
Areas included in the visit will be Jabiru, Koongarra,
Nabarlek and Jabiluka.
Jabiru is the site of the Ranger deposit which is the
subject of the current Inquiry by Mr Justice Fox. It is expected
that the Inquiry's report will, however, cover matters which will

THE ACTING PRIME MINISTER, MR ANTHONY,
ANNOUNCED TODAY THAT QUE. ENSLAND-WOULD RECEIVE $ 27 MILLION
IN SPECIAL GRANTS IN 1976-77 IN ADDITION TO ITS
ENTITLEMENTS UNDER THE NEW TAX SHARING ARRANGEMENTS.
THE SPECIAL GRANTS WERE RECOMMENDED BY THlE
COMMOiNWEALTI GRANTS COMMISSION AND COMPRISE AN ADVANCE
GRANT OF $ 18 MILLION IN RESPECT OF 1976-77 AND A
COMPLETION GRANT OF $ 9 MILLION IN RESPECT OF 1974-75.

I welcome the announcement by Utah Development Company and
Mitsubishi Development Pty Ltd of the agreement under which the
Australian Mutual Provident Society and Utah Mining Australia
Limited will become participants in the Central Queensland Coal
Associates after a final decision is made to proceed with the
Norwich Park project.

Statement by the Acting Prime Minister, Mr. Anthony
The action of demonstrators in engaging in vandalism
at St. Stephen's Church in Sydney was deplorable, and will be
condemned by the great majority of people.
What this hooligan element does not seem to understand
is that it was not Sir John Kerr who turned a 5-seat Labor
majority in Federal Parliament into a 55-seat Liberal-National
Country Party majority last December, but the Australian people

COOMBS REPORT RECEIVED
Th report of the Royal C~ mmission on Australian Government
Administration has been transmitted to His Excellency the
Governor-General and received by the Go rernment. The report
will be released as soon as a supply of printed copies is
available. The Royal Commigs'ion, chaired by Dr H. C. Coombs, has made a
comprehensive review of the working of the Commonwealth
administration and has submitted a wide ranging set of
recommendat ions.

SENATOR COTTON TO LEAD SOUTH PACIFIC FORUM DELEGATION
The Minister for Industry and ' Commerce, Senator Robert
Cotton, will lead the Australian Delegation to the South
Pacific Forum Meeting to be held in Nauru from
26-28 July.
The Forum is made up of the independent and self-governing
countries of the South Pacific.
Members are Australia, Fiji, Papua New Guinea, the Cook
Island, N'iue, Western Samoa, Tonga, Nauru and New Zealand.
The Solomon Islands, the Gilbert Islands, and Tuvalu
attend as observers.
