-WESTERN AUSTRALIA STORM DAMAGE
The Prime Minister has telexed the Premier offering all possible
Commonwealth assistance to the people of Western Australia
affected by storm damage arising from Cyclone " Hazel".
" I learned with concern of the damage and flooding
inflicted on the north-west of the State, particularly
at Carnarvon and Geraldton", Mr Fraser said.

Abortion The Aus-ralian says you assured clerymen yvesterday that
you would vote in favour of a proposal co stop the
financing of abortion. ( Page 2).
Sydney Morning Herald says you had promised your support for
the mo-ion calling on the Government to pay abortion benefits
only when the life of the mother is at stake, ( Page 3),
while the Age says you had indicated you would support
Mr. Lusher's motion but may not be strongly opposed to
possible amendments.

One of the most exciting industrial projects of the present
time is the development of the world car. The world
automotive industry is going through a period of dramatic
change which will intensify throughout the 1980' s.
Increasing costs, together with demand for more fuel
efficient vehicles, are encouraging integration of operations
and the use of common vehicle components on a world basis.

President Carter sets out on his Middle East peace mission,
expressing " hope tempered by realism". Meanwhile, the Egyptian
Prime Minister called a special cabinet meeting in Cairo to
examine America's latest peace proposals. He said that the US
proposals were positive, and even though they might require
some alteration, the chances for peace were good. In Jerusalem,
the Israeli Foreign Minister said a peace treaty with Egypt

INTERNATIONAL WOMEN'S DAY
The Prime Minister today announced two grants to mark
the Government's recognition of International Women's Day.
The Government is to provide $ 22,635 to a National Women's
Advisory Council research programme on women at home.
The programme will be carried out by the Women's Research Group
of the Knox Community Relations Centre. It will examine the
economic, social and physical situation of women in the
home and their perception of their role.

VISIT BY HRH THE PRINCE OF WALES
Details of the program for the visit to the Australian Capital
Territory this month by His Royal Highness the Prince of
Wales were released today.
The Prince of Wales is scheduled to arrive at RAAF Base Fairbairn
on the afternoon of Saturday 24 March. He will be received
by the Governor--General and Mr. Hunt, representing the Prime Minister.
While in Canberra His Royal Highness will stay with the
Governor-General and Lady Cowen at Government House.

Parliament House Construction Authority Bill 1979

This bill reflects in legislative form the proposals concerning the construction of the new Parliament House which were announced by me in November last year.

Since that announcement the Government has taken a number of steps in order to get the project underway. The names of the persons who have been invited to form the new authority for the design and construction of the House have been announced and a number of preliminary meetings have taken place.

Mr. MALCOLMFRASER ( Wannon Prime Minister)
For the information of honourable members, I present the
Report of the Study Group on Structural Adjustment, and seek
leave to make a statement on the future handling of the Report.
The Study Group, chaired by Sir John Crawford, was set up to
examine and advise the Government on the adjustment problems of
Australian manufacturing industries. Other members of the Study
Group were Sir Brian Inglis ( Chairman of the Government's
