DOUBLE TAXATION AGREEMENT WITH GERMANY

The Acting Treasurer, Mr. Gorton, said today that Australian
officials and officials of the Federal Republic of Germany negotiating in
Canberra have agreed on the text of a draft agreement for the avoidance OZ
double taxation between Australian and the Federal Republic of Germany.
These negotiations followed talks held in Bonn last year.
The draft agreement will now be submitted to the Governments of
the two countries for consideration.
Before it could come into operation the agreement would of course have
to be given the force of law by the Parliaments of the two countries.
