MEMBERSHIP OF THE BOARD FOR ASSISTANCE TO
AUSTRALIAN COMPOSERS
Statement by the Prime Minister, Mr. Harold Holt
The Prime Minister, Mr. Harold Holt, announced today
that following on the Commonwealth Government's decision to provide
assistance to enable Australian composers to make their works known,
arrangements have been completed for the setting-up of an Advisory Board
to administer this aid. The Membership of the Board is as follows
Sir Bernard Heinze, Chairman
Professor F. A. Callaway, Professor of Music,
University of Western Australia
Mr. John Hopkins, Director of Music, Australian
Broadcasting Commission, Sydney.
The Secretariat for this Board will be provided by the Prime
Minister's Department and enquiries should be addressed to the Secretary,
Advisory Board Commonwealth Assistance to Australian Composers, Prime
Minister's Department, Canberra.
