The Prime Minister said tonight that, since answering the question in the House this afternoon, he had examined his correspondence and found that he had indeed heard from Mrs. Brown of Shenton Park, on 2nd August, and had thanked her in a letter dated 21st August.
The exchange of letters had slipped his memory when the question was asked.
