FLOOD BELIEF
Statement by the Prime Minister the Rt. Hon. Sir Robert
Menzi. es
The Prime Minister, Sir Robert Menzies,
announced today that the Commonwealth Government had
decided to make a further œ 60,000 available to relieve
distress in the flooded areas on the Northern Rivers
of New South Wales, This sum is additional to œ 20,000 made
available when the floods occurred earlier this month.
The total of œ 80,000 will be on a
for basis with a similar contribution from the
Government of New South Walesu
