Statement by the Prime Minister, the Rt. Hon. Sir Robert Menzies
Mr. T. T. Krishnamachari, Indian Minister
for Economic and Defence Co-ordination, will pay a visit
to Australia, arriving on the morning of Tuesday, 23rd
April. This arises from an invitation issued to
Mr. Krishnamachari on behalf of the Australian Government
by the Australian High Commissioner to India, Sir James
Plimsoll. He will visit Canberra and Sydney, spending a
couple of days in each place. He will meet the Prime
Minister and some senior Cabinet Ministers.
The main purpose of the visit is to have
a friendly exchanpe of views on the general situation and
to discuss matters of common interest to both Governments.
