COMMITTEE ON TERTIARY EDUCATION
Statement by the Prime Minister, Rt. Hon. Menzies
Professor C. R. McRae, who has been Deputy
Chairman of the Committee on the Future of Tertiary
Education, has been forced to resign because of illhealth.
In announcing this today the Prime Minister
paid tribute to the work done by rofessor McRae since
the establishment of the Committee in August last year.
Mr. Menzies also announced that arrangements
have been made for Professor J. W. Roderick Professor
of Civil Engirneering at the University of 9, ydney, to
join the Committee. The Committee's task is a complex one and it
is not expected to complete its report until toward the
end of next year,
