Statement by the Prime Minister, the Rt. Hon. R. G. Menzies
The Premiers of Victoria and South Australia, and the
Deputy Premier and Minister for Development of New South Jales,
Mr. Renshaw, met today with the Treasurer, Mr. Holt, the
Minister for National Development, Senator Spooner and : yself
on the question of the Chowilla Dam project.
Officials of the States and the Commonwealth were also
present. Today's meeting was a preliminary one and favourable
progress was made. As a result of the meeting there will be
further investigation of the proposal and another meeting will
be held later.
