26 March 1975
MESSAGE OF CONDOLENCE ON THE DEATH OF KING FAISAL
The Prime Minister, Mr Whitlam, has sent the
following message of condolence to King Khalid the new ruler of
Saudi Arabia upon the death of King Faisal:
" On behalf of the Australian Government, may
I convey to you my deep regret and sincere condolences at the
tragic death of the late King Faisal, whose wise and constructive
leadership in Saudi Arabia and in the whole Middle East region
we have greatly admired. This event has been received with
sorrow in Australia." E. G. Whitlam, Prime Minister of Australia.
