APPROVED ITINERARY FOR PRIME MINISTER'S VISIT TO TASMANIA
The Prime Minister, Mr. R. G. Menzies, will pay a three-day
visit to northern Tasmania on July 4-6. The itinerary for his
visit is as follows
TUESDAY, 4TH JULY:
10.30 a. m.
12.30 p. m.
2.00 p. m.
3.00 p. m.
5.00 p. m.
8.00 p. m. Arrive King Island and tour soldier settlcrs'
properties
Attend lunch to be given by Council and meet local
representatives
Depart King Island
Arrive Burnie
Civic Reception to be given by Warden W. A. Young,
Warden of Burnie and endorsed Liberal Candidate for
Braddon Public meeting at Burnie to be chaired by Warden
Young
WEDNESDAY, 5TH JULY:
9.30 a. m.
11.00 a. m.
11.30 a. m.
12 noon
12.30 p. m.
2.00 p. m. Visit Associated Paper Pulp Mills, Burnie, and
inspect Mills in company with foremen of various
Departments. Leave A. P. P. M.
Call on Warden of Ulverstone
Depart Ulverstone
Arrive Devonport and be guests of Warden for Lunch
Depart Devonport for Launceston
8 9.30 p. m. Rally of Party supporters at Navalmen's Hall
THURSDAY, 6TF JUrY:
11.30 a. m. Inspect Irrigation Scheme at Poatina
1 2 p. m.
2 2.45 p. m.
3.00 p. m. Guests of Launceston Chamber of Commerce for lunch
Discussion with Chamber of Commerce and Rural
Industry representatives
Television interview 15 minutes, with Mr. Ray
Sherry ( Channel on the Prime Minister's
impressions of his visit. It is likely that this
programme will be circulated to Associated Chcnnelz
on mainland.
