Prime Minister Rudd will make an overseas visit from 25 to 29 June, attending the G20 Leaders Summit in Toronto, and making a bilateral visit to New Zealand.
In Canada, the Prime Minster will attend the Toronto G20 summit, meet bilaterally with a number of G20 leaders, and engage with senior Canadian and Australian business representatives.
The G20 has proved to be a vital mechanism to manage global economic challenges. At the Toronto summit, G20 Leaders will be focused on an agenda designed to pave the way towards stronger, more sustainable and balanced global growth. Leaders will also focus on the current challenges to fiscal sustainability in some parts of the world.
The Prime Minister will visit New Zealand on 29 June. During the visit, the Prime Minister will hold talks with Prime Minister Key, Cabinet Ministers and senior business representatives. Prime Minister Rudd will also address the New Zealand Parliament. He will be the first foreign leader to be accorded this honour.
