The Governor-General and the Prime Minister will attend the Beijing Olympics Games at the personal invitation of the President of China.
The Prime Minister will attend the Opening Ceremony and the Governor General the Closing Ceremony.
The Prime Minister will be attending the Beijing Olympics to support the Australian Olympic Team which will be our largest ever at an overseas Olympics.
The Prime Minister will be in Beijing between 7 and 10 August and will participate in the Australian Olympic Team's Flag Raising Ceremony and address the Australian Olympic Team at an Official Team Reception at the invitation of the Australian Olympic Committee.
The Prime Minister will also attend a number of engagements in the Games program in support of Australia's athletes including Shooting, Women's Basketball, Cycling and Diving events.
