I will visit Japan and Indonesia from June 8 to 14.
The purpose of this visit is to advance Australia's economic and security interests with two of Australia's most important bilateral partners.
I will also discuss with the governments of Japan and Indonesia how to best advance our mutual interests in the region on matters including financial cooperation, the development of regional architecture, climate change and disaster relief coordination.
I will visit Japan from 8 to 12 June. Australia's relationship with Japan is long-standing, close and broad-based.
In Japan, I will be received in audience by Their Majesties the Emperor and Empress of Japan and will meet with Prime Minister Fukuda, other senior Japanese ministers and Diet members. I will also meet with senior Japanese and Australian business representatives.
I will visit Indonesia from 12-14 June. Our relationship with Indonesia remains one of our closest and most valued.
In Indonesia, I will meet with President Yudhoyono, representatives of the National Parliament, and senior business representatives.
