VISIT BY HER MAJESTY QUEEN ELIZABETH THE QUEEN MOTHER
Statement by the Prime Minister, Sir Robert Menzies.
Her Mvjesty Queen Elizabeth The Queen Mother has
acceDted an itinerary for her visit to Australia next year.
The primary purpose of the visit is to attend the Fourth
Adelaide esival of Arts.
The itinerary is as follows
Tuesday, 22nd March
Monday, 28th M-irch
Saturday, 2nd April Arrive at Adelaide
Leave Adelide for Perth
Leave Perth for Canberra
In the couse of the Ci. mberra programme,
Her Majesty will make a brief visit to the
Snowy Scheme.
Thursday, 7th AprilArrive at Melbourne to go
on board the Royal Yacht
and leave later for New
Zealand.
A programme of engagements in draft form is now
being prepared for Queen Elizabeth's visit. An uannouncement
of these details will be made after the proposals have been
accepted by Her Majesty.
CANBERRA, October, 1965.
BACKGROUND NOTE The air journey from London to Adelaide
will be by Quntas Boeing 707 aircraft.
