MENZIES, IN THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES, ON
WEDNESDAY, 25TH OCTOBER. 1961
I do not propose to devote any time to what has fallen from the
honourable member for ivacquarie ( Mr. Luchetti). suite frankly, I have never
heard him to worse advantage. He went through a process like the legendary
tiger of lashing himself into a fury with his f ill. In the course of doing so,
he came out strong I think that is the phrase as the champion of privat.

RAITJXAY AGREEMENT ( QUEENSLAND) BILL, 1961.
The purpose of' this Bill is to seek the approval of the Parliament to
an agreement between the Commonwealth and the State of Queensland covering the
provision of financial assistance to that State in the work of increasing and
improving the facilities cf the Collinsville-Townsville-Mount Isa Railway.

COAL LOADING WORKS AGREEMENT ( NEW SOUTH vJALES') BILL, 1961.
The purpose of this Bill is to obtain the approval of Parliament to an
Agreement between the Commowealth and the State of New South Wales providing
for finp~ ncial assistance to the State towards the cost of installing improved,
coal loading facilities at the ports of Newcastle, Port Kembla and Balmain.

QUEENSLAND GRANT ( BEEF CATTLE ROADS) BILL, 1961
This Bill seeks the approval of the Parliament to a grant of financial
assistance to the State of Queensland for the construction of beef cattle roads

The Commonwealth Government has approved of the Snowy Mountains Authority entering into three new contracts aggregating more than £20 million for projects within the next major stage of the Snowy Scheme, These projects are the 15-mile Eucembene-Sncwy Tunnel to connect the Snowy River at Island Bend with Lake Eucumbene; the Island Bend Dam, which will be used to divert the Snowy River into the tunnel system at Island Bend; and the Snowy Section of the Snowy-Geehi Tunnel.
