PRIME MINISTER: I was just about to say that I suppose I will have
to alter my Who's Who entry by including among Hobbies
Cabinet-making. That seems to be my chief job for the
last two days.
QUESTION: Can you announce the result yet, Sir?
PRIME MINISTER: No. but Ill. be in a position to, I have to do
something on this between now and lunch time tomorrow
and I've secured the Governor-General's permission to

The Government now has a majority in the House of
Representatives, and the probability of a stronger position in
the Senate than at one stage seemed likely.
Ministers met yesterday. They frankly reviewed the
election and its results, ma the causes of the set-back the
Government sustained, particularly in Queensland and New Soutih
Wales. Subsequently, we had a meeting with private members, and

Tribute-by the Prime Minister, the lit. Hon. R. G. Menzies
Sir Earle Page was a very distinguished Australian.
He was one of the founders of the Country Party. His long
partnership with Mr. Bruce ( as he then was) covered a period of
great national advancement.
Always fertile in ideas, he played a great part in
the establishment of great institutions like the Financial
Agreement and the Loan Council, and great measures of social
welfare like the current Commonwealth Health Scheme. He

A State Funeral is being arranged for the late Sir
Earle Page. The Church Service will take place at St. Andrew's
Cathedral, Sydney, at 10.30 a. m. on Friday, December 22nd, and
afterwards the cortege will leave for the Northern Suburbs
Crematorium, The Service at the Crematorium will be conducted
by the President of the ivethodist Conference in New South lales,
the Rev. Norman Lickiss.

0 The Minister for External Affairs, Mr. Menzies, said
today that he regretted the use of force by the Indian Government
to pursue its claim to Goa, and other Portuguese territories
in India. Mr. M'enzies recognised that Indian public opinion
felt strongly about the dispute, which was of long standing.
However, it was the responsibility of nations to seek their
objectives through legal processes or by peaceful negotiations
