Tony Eggleton has explained that I feel my first respcosibility,
so far as any detailed report is concerned, is to make my report to the
Parliament. I have given an assurance that If Parliament is in session, it
should be the first to hear matters of substantial political importance, but I
am able, I feel, to m~ ake some broad comments to you, and-hope this will be
of some assistance in the task you have.

As I make my departure from Korea, I would like to sum
up in these few Iinal words, some of the impressions that Mrs.
Holt and I and the other memoers of my party will take away with
us at the end of this most memorable visit.
First of all, Mr. Prime Minister I heartily endorse
your description of this visit as an important milestone in the
history o the relationship betv een our two countries. It has

At the invitation of His Excellency 11 Kwon Chung. Prime
Minister of the Republic of Korea, the Right Honourable Harold Holt,
Prime Minister of the Commonwealth of Australia paid an official visit
to the Republic of Korea from 6th to 9th April, 1967.

I am nearing the end now of this journey I have been making to
four countries in the Asian region first to Cambodia, then Laos, Taiwan
and finally Korea, with stopover visits to Singapore and Hong Kong where I
have been able to have some talks with officials and members of governments
in those places also.
It has been for me a most informative, interesting and indeed
enthralling journey. I shall return to my own country very much better
