PUBLIC DUTY AND PRIVATE INTERESTS
For the information of honourable members I present
copies of the statements which Ministers have provided
to me concerning their private interests. My own return
is, of course, also included.
Mr Speaker, I seek leave to make a statement.

Mr Geoffrey Miller is to be appointed the Director of the Economic Planning Advisory Council Secretariat.

Mr Miller is at present Deputy Secretary, Department of Primary Industry. Hie earlier held the position of Director, Bureau of Agricultural Econmics. Mr Miller's academic qualifications and administrative experience fit him well for the task of setting up and running the Secretariat that will provide support for EPAC.

THE PRIME MINISTER MIADE THE FOLLOWING STATEMENT AT TILE
LEBANESE RALrLY OUTSIDE PARLIAMENT HOUSE THIS AFTERNOON:
I want to thank you for being here to express your very very
deep concern at the time of tragedy in your country. I want
to assure you that the Australian Government is conscious of
the tragedy which is happening in Lebanon and it is happening
because of the existence in your country of foreign forces
there and it is the clear position of the Australian Government

Executive of the NSW Rail Authority, Mr. David Hill.
Mr. Hill, 37, is an economist. He was appointed to the R! ail
Authority in July 1980. Prior to that he was Cornmissiencr of
the NSW Public Transport Commission. From 1976-197S Mr. Hill was
ecoinomics ad: iser to the NSW Premier, Mr. Wran.

The Prime Minister sent the following message to the America's Cup Crew:

" Congratulations on winning through to the final challenger for the Amrerica's Cup. All down under will be sailing with Australia II when the final series begins. our hopes are high that you will sail into history and bring back that elusive cup. Whatever the outcome, yours has been a magnificent venture.
All Australians are very proud of you.

I am delighted to be here with you tonight to open in Canberra the exhibition which has come to be called ' the Entombed Warriors'.

This exhibition can only be described as awe inspiring,

to see it one is immediately taken on a journey some 2,200 years into the past.

It brings home to us in Australia just how far back China's civilisation reaches.

This is the first exhibition, devoted exclusively to the Qin Shihuang burial, to travel outside China.
