President Alfonsin of Argentina will make a working visit to Australia on 12-13 July. I will have talks with him in Canberra on 12 July.

It will be the first visit to Australia by a Latin American Head of State. The President will be accompanied by Foreign Minister Caputo and Economy Minister Sourrouille.

Agreement has been reached with Vatican authorities on the
program for the visit to Australia by Pope John Paul II.
In the course of his stay, the Pope will visit Canberra and all
State capital cities. In the Northern Territory, he will visit
both Darwin and Alice Springs. In Canberra, which will be the
Pope's point of arrival in Australia, the Government will hold a
reception in his honour.

superannuation scheme?
PM: Well, what I would like to see is this sort of situation
emerge. First of all let's take the fact. The fact is that about

congratulationa to the young Adelaide violinist, Jane
Peters, on winning the Third Prize in the 1986 Tchaikovsky
Competition in Moscow.
Jane's outstanding achievement in the face of international
competition ox the highest calibre follows the successful
European tour by the Australian Youth Orchestra in 1984. It
is a further convincing demonstration of the capacities of
young Australians to achieve excellence in the international

The Government has rejected an increase of 11.7 per cent in
salaries payable to Parliamentarians recommended by the
Remuneration Tribunal's 1986 review.
The Tribunal, which reviews the remuneration payable to
Ministers* Senators and Members, Judges, Members of the
Inter-state Commission, Secretaries of Commonwealth
Departments and holders of public offices, presented its
report to the Government last week. It has recdmmended no
