EXPORT INCENTIVES
Statement by the Prime Minister, Mr. John Gorton
The Prime Minister, Mr. Gorton, today outlined a
number of changes which the Government has decided to make in
the two export incentive schemes which have been in operation
since 1961. " In the light vf the facts beñ forc it", said the
Prime Minister, " the Government is convinced that as a result
of the proposed changes these schemes will offer better and
more effective incentives to encourage the continued growth
of Australian exports".

resp onse to requests from the States, the Commonwealth had agreed to
provide special revenue assistance totalling $ 13 million to be distributed

COMPETITION TO WSELECT NATIONAL GALLERY DESIGNER

A competition will be held to select an architect to design
Australia's National Gallery in Canberra.
It is intended that the competition will be among architects
practising In Australia including some of the younger men In the profession.
The entries will be assessed by:
1. Eminent architect and specialist in creative arts, Mr Robin Boyd
2. Chairman of the National Capital Planning Committee, Sir John

VISIT BY CAMBODIAN FOR'S IGN MINISTER
Statement by the Prime Minister, Senator John Gorton
The Foreign Minister of Cambodia, His Highness Prince
Norodom Phurissara, will shortly make an official visit to Australia.
He will be accompanied by his wife. Detailed arrangements are still
being made, but the Prince will be a guest of the Australian Governent
and it is likely that he will arrive in Australia towards the end of

request from the 1Nlew South Wales Government that it join with the
State in providing $ 50, CX on a dollar-for-dollar basis for the
relief of personal hardship and distress suffered by people in the
North Coast and North-WVest regions of New South Wales as a result
