I would like publicly to announce that there will be an

in a statement on arrival and before I have talked with Mr. Trudeau,
presume to detail what we are likely to discuss.

TOWRA POINT RULED OUT AS AIRPORT SITE
Statement by the Prime Minister, Mr John Gorton
The community noise problem involved in the

that the Minister for Civil Aviation has advised me that he has
decided to direct the Interdepartmental Committee, convened to
consider the future airport needs of Sydney, to exclude this site
from its consideration. While accepting that the advantages which modern
aviation brings to the community as a whole are considerable, I

Speech by the Prime Minister, Mr. John Gorton
Mr. Mayor, Sir Robert Menzies and Ladies and Gentlemen:
May I start by saying how glad I am to have the
opportunity to be here today in my own electorate in which I am
able to appear in all too infrequently, for reasons which I hope you
will understand and forgive.
Now this piece of paper in my hand was a speech
which was written to give to you, but it appears to be not much use
