ADDRESS AT HOBART CAM. PAIGN LUN'. CHEON
In this election, the questions which face the people of
Tasmania and all Australians, are as clear as they
were in 1975. In 1975 Australians faced up to the question of
whether they wanted our country to lift itself out of the
suffocating morass Labor had created.
Australia and Tasmania first of all answered yes,
with the most resounding vote in our history.
Since then, the Australian people and government have been

it is great to be in Tasmania. Tasmania always receives special.
attention from this government. The Tasmanian Liberal team in.
the House is the best team that Tasmania has ever had in
the Federal Parliament. I know. from sitting in. the House at
Question Time just how effectively Kevin Newman in the ' nity
Max Burr, Ray Groom, Bruce Goodluck and 1-sichael Hodgmnan from
Backbench pursue Tasmania's interests.

ELECTORATE TALK
Interest rates are important to all Australians. The level of
interest rates can have an immediate and direct impact on our
quality of life.
They particularly affect young men and women wanting to buy homes,
and to families and others wanting to borrow money to make
improvements to their homes. They are also of special concern
to small businesses and farmers, who rely on borrowed money to
keep operating and to expand.

tell the public in clear terms whether they would protect people
from having their tax increased simply because of inflation.
They have been desperately confused and have repeatedly contradicted
one another.
The Shadow Treasurer, Mr. Hurford, was expected -to give the
definitive statement by the end of the week. He failed to do
SO. He cancelled his press conference.
It is quite clear that -the Labor Party would abolish what is called
