Everyone involved in making this op ening possible must feel a
real sense of pride. You have taken and translated into

PRIME MINISTERS STATEMENT
TO TELEVISION CAMERAS
I am quite certain that all Australians will deplore the
barbaric murder of Aldo Moro, one of the most distinguished
political leaders from Italy. He has been a great leader and
his assassination, his murder, his kidnapping, comes at a-. time
when he had been seeking through the democratic process to
seek some kind of consensus within the Italian community and
nation. This is another serious attack at the heart of the democratic

MEAT INSPECTION SERVICES
The Prime Minister has written to the State Premiers seeking
their co-operation to rationalise Commonwealth and State
meat inspection services. He has also asked the Premiers to
minimise inspection fees imposed by State Government bodies
on meat entering metropolitan markets.
Previous negotiations with the States extending over many
years have failed to reach agreement. Existing arrangements
involve separate administrative organiisations which lead to
some unnecessary costs.
