LABOR'S ECONOMIC POLICY
It is not only the Government that is condemning Labor's
irresponsible economic policies.
This is what the economic commentators and editorials
have to say.
" The ALP programme is on all fours with the disastrous
economic programe introduced by the Mitterand Government
in France". ( Max Newton)
" We believe that the path he has chosen is the road
to recklessness". ( Editorial, The Australian)
" There are so many contradictions in this document

LABOR'S CENTRALJISM
It is clear that a Labor Government would centralise power
in Canberra and ride rough-shod over the States,
Mr Hawke has made his attitude quite plain. He has said that
he believes " that Australidns would be better served by the
elimination of ( State) Government
His Deputy, Mr Bowen, was equally derogatory about S tate's
rigjhts wh! en he spoke on Wednesday of the " nonsense of
contradi~ ctory State rights and ' State jealouosies'.

AUSTRAIA NBEEDS SOME ANSWERS FROM MR HAWKE
Auatralians have a right to some answers from Mr Hawke.
If Australians are to make a proper judgment about issues inthis
election, they will need better than the waffle, evasion
and side-stepping that we get everyday from the man who seeks
to olaim the mantle of Government.
He has refused to answer questions about the detail on the
cost of his promises.
He ducks and evades a whole range of matters relating to his

* KEATING'S WORDS WILL DROWN HIM
Australians should be under no doubt about what Labor would do to
fund their multi-billion dollar spending spree.
The Shadow Treasurert Mr Keating, has made his Party's position
abundantly clear. Just eight days ago, on national radio, he
said, and I quote his own words his words, not mine:
" We have massive savings locked up in the banking system
( with) which the Commonwealth could quite easily fund
this sort of deficit and get the Australian economy

PRICES AND INCOMES POLICY
Democracy in Australia has never been more seriously
challenged than it is now by the ALP and the unions'
so-called.-prices and incomes policy.
Labor is not satisfied with putting unions above
the law, under the prices and incomes policy, Labor
would require union consent to make the law.
The agreement has given the unions a right of veto
over a Labor Government's economic policy. It
has given the militant trade union leaders the

ELECTORATE TALK
The bushfires which have swept through South Australia and
Victoria are the worst Australia has ever known. Over
people have lost their lives and around 2,000 homes have been
burnt to the ground. The fires have destroyed the livelihoods
of many Australian families and I know every Australian joins
with me in extending their deepest sympathy to those
who have lost friends and relations in the fires, and to those
whose homes and possessions have been destroyed.

LABOR'S ABDICATION GOVERNMENT BY THE UNIONS FOR THE UNIONS
Finally we have Labor's real policy speech. Last week
speech at the Opera House just gave us Labor's starting
price of $ 2750 million.
Labor's so-called prices and incomes policy, set out in the
Statement of Accord by the Australian Labor Party and the
Australian Council of Trade Unions regarding Economic Policy,
dated February 1983, is in every sense a blueprint for union
government. It means government by the unions for the unions.
