Proposed reappointment of departmental secretary

I am pleased to announce that I will be recommending to the Governor-General, Her Excellency the Honourable Quentin Bryce AC CVO, that she reappoint Mr Roger Wilkins AO as the Secretary of the Attorney-General’s Department.
Mr Wilkins has led the Attorney-General’s Department with distinction and I thank him for his ongoing contribution to the Australian Public Service.
The Governor-General will consider the appointment under recent amendments to the Public Service Act 1999 which took effect on 1 July 2013.
Mr Wilkins’ current appointment is due to end on 31 August 2013 and his proposed reappointment will be until 31 August 2014.
