Prime Minister Julia Gillard today announced that His Excellency General Michel Sleiman, President of the Republic of Lebanon, will undertake a state visit to Australia from 15 to 20 April.
Ms Gillard said she looks forward to warmly welcoming President Sleiman to Australia and that the Australian-Lebanese relationship is one that is built firmly on the friendship between its people.
Prime Minister Gillard will hold discussions with President Sleiman in Canberra on a range of bilateral and international issues, reaffirming the two countries' shared commitment to cooperation and strengthened ties.
President Sleiman will also call on the Governor-General and the governors of New South Wales and Victoriaduring his visit, which will include stops in Sydney and Melbourne.
