The Prime Minister today spoke with Ted Baillieu to congratulate him on his election victory in Victoria.
The Prime Minister also congratulated John Brumby on his time as Victorian Premier, and on a hard-fought campaign.
John Brumby has made an enormous contribution to Victoria both as a Minister and as Premier.
He has led the State through difficult times, including the devastating bushfires which ravaged Victoria in 2009.
He has worked with the Commonwealth to deliver reforms in important areas including education, health and water.
The Prime Minister had the privilege of working with John Brumby, whose passion for regional Victoria and giving every child a great education always shone through.
The Prime Minister looks forward to working with Ted Baillieu to tackle the challenges facing all Australians, including the continuing need for improvements in health, education and broadband.
