National Police Remembrance Day
Today is National Police Remembrance Day - the day to honour the sacrifice of all police who have fallen in the line of duty.
Since 1803, 741 police officers have been killed on duty while protecting our communities.
These dedicated men and women gave their lives while serving us all.
On this day, it is important that we stop and remember the sacrifices they have made, as well as that of their families, friends, and workmates, who will forever live with their loss.
Now in its 21st year, National Police Remembrance Day provides an opportunity for Australians to express their gratitude to the brave police men and women who have died on duty, and to those who every day devote
