STATEMENT BY THE PRIME MINISTER, THE HON P. J. KEATING MP
PRIME MINISTER'S RURAL AND REGIONAL TASKFORCE
I am pleased to announce that the Rural and Regional Taskforce headed by
the Member for Page, Mr Harry Woods, will visit Rockhampton and
surrounding areas this week.
The Taskforce, which will be accompanied by Marjorie Henzell MP, Member
for Capricornia, will meet local government representatives to discuss
regional development issues. It will also take the opportunity to discuss with
local farming groups and interested bodies the ongoing problems caused by
the drought.
