ACTING SECRETARY, DEPARTMENT OF FINANCE
Mr Stephen Thomas Sedgwick will act as Secretary to the
Department of Finance from 20 January 1992.
Mr Sedgwick has been Chairperson and Commissioner of the
Industry Commission since July 1991.
He is a senior Commonwealth public servant with a record of
achievement in economic policy, including industry policy.
His earlier career included a period as Deputy Secretary in
the Department of Finance, positions in the Treasury and the
Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet, and a period
as Senior Economic Adviser to the former Prime Minister.
