The Government will be recommending to the Governor-General
the following senior appointments:
Mr Alan Rose, an Associate Secretary in the
Attorney-General's portfolio, as Secretary of the
Attorney-General's Department. This follows the
retirement of Mr Brazil from that position. The
appointment of Mr Rose will take effect on 4 March
1989.
Mr Rose has had a varied career with many years in
senior positions in the Department of the Prime
Minister and Cabinet, then a period as Secretary of the
Department of Community Services before taking up his
present position in the Attorney-General's portfolio.
Mr Graham Glenn, presently Secretary of the Department
of Administrative Services, as Secretary of the
Department of Industrial Relations. This follows the
appointment of Mr Rae Taylor to a position with
Australia Post.
Mr Glenn's appointment will be from 1 March 1989.
Before taking up his present position in 1987, Mr Glenn
spent many years in senior positions in the former
Public Service Board, including as a Commissioner. He
has had extensive experience in industrial relations
issues, especially in relation to the public sector.
