VISIT TO AUSTRALIA OF GREEK DEPUTY PRIME MINISTER
The Greek Deputy Prime Minister, Mr Haralambopoulos, will
visit Australia from 18-25 May. He will represent the Prime
Minister of Greece, Mr Papandreou, and be the guest of
Mr Lionel Bowen.
Mr Haralambopoulos will begin his visit in Melbourne where
he will meet members of the Greek community and Victorian
ministers. I look forward to seeing Mr Haralambopoulos in Canberra,
where he will call on Federal ministers, and attend a dinner
hosted by the Governor-General, Sir Ninian Stephen. On
Saturday 21 May, he and I will jointly unveil the
Australian-Hellenic Memorial.
Mr Haralambopoulos will be in Brisbane on 22 and 23 May and
will visit Expo 88 as official guest for the Greek National
Day ceremony, meet the local Greek community and State
Government ministers.
Mr Haralambopoulos' visit will end in Sydney where his
activities will include meeting New South Wales Government
ministers and a reception by the Greek Consul-General. 006210
