A new Ombudsman is due to be appointed ' later this year following the retirement of Professor Jack Richardson, who will be 65 in September.
Appointed as the inaugural Commonwealth Ombudsman in 1976, Professor Richardson has seen his office grow into a busy troubleshooter, now handling 20,000 inquiries a year.
The Government is looking for a person who has had wide experience of administration, in either the government or non-government sector to succeed Professor Richardson.
