Prince Charles'I Wedding
The Deputy Prime Minister, the Rt Hon. J. D.
Anthony, MP will represent the Australian Government at
the Privy Council Meeting being held in London on 27 March
1981. This meeting of the Privy Council will be the
meeting at which The Queen will signify her consent to the
marriage of The Prince of Wales to the Lady Diana Spencer.
All countries of which The Queen is Sovereign are
being invited to send a Privy Counsellor to-attend.
Background: The Deputy Prime Minister is a member of the
Council. In 1947 at the Privy Council meeting when
King George VI signified his consent t6 the marriage
Princess Elizabeth, Australia was represented by the
Rt Hon. J. A. Beasley, a member of the Privy Council,
was at the time High Commissioner in London. Privy of who
-Mr Anthony will fly to London from the Middle East,
