CABINET COMMITTEES
A new Standing Committee o~ f the Cabinet, to be known as
the Public Information Committee, has been formed.
The Committee, to be chaired by Sir Phillip Lynch, will
consider public presentation of Government policies and
programs. Membership of the Conmmittee will be:
Sir Phillip Lynch ( Chair)
Mr Sinclair
Senator Carrick
Mr Nixon
Senator Guilfoyle
Mr Viner
Senator Chaney
Mr Fife
Mr Newman
Mr Nixon and Senator Chaney will assist Sir Phillip Lynch
in the work ' of the Committee which will be supported by the
Government Information Unit.
in further recognition of the increasing burden being
assumed by Sir Phillip Lynch in chairing Committees of the
Cabinet and assisting the Prime Minister generally with
Cabinet administration, and at his request, Sir Phillip
has been relieved of chairmanship of the Budget Committee.
Mr Howard will now be Chairman of the Budget Committee and
Sir Phillip Lynch will remain as a member of that Committee.
