VISIT BY THE PRINCE OF WALES
The Prince of Wales has approved the program for his sixteen
day visit to Australia in April.
His Royal Highness will arrive in Canberra by RAF VC 10 from
New Zealand on Sunday 12 April and depart for overseas at
the end of the visit on Monday 27 April.
The Prince of Wales will be in Canberra 12-14 April,
New South Wales 14-16 April, Victoria 16-21 April, Tasmania
12-23 April and South Australia 23-27 April.
As announced previously, the Prince of Wales will open the
Fiftieth Anniversary Convention of Apex Clubs of Australia
in Geelong on Friday 17 April.
In-Canberra The Prince of Wales will be accorded a ceremonial
welcome at the RAAF Base, Fairbairn.
That evening His Royal Highness will be the guest of the
Prime l4inister and Mrs. Fraser at dinner at the Lodge.
On Monday 13 April His Royal Highness will meet at Government
House members and ex-students of the United World Colleges
Trust. The Prince of Wales is the President of the International
Council of that organisation. Later that afternoon as Patron
of the Queen Elizabeth II Silver Jubilee Trust for Young
Australians, His Royal Highness will meet Trust members
and beneficiaries.
On the same day His Royal Highness will visit the Australian
War Memorial where he will lay a wreath and open the Hall of
Valour, a new Gallery to perpetuate the memory of outstanding
deeds of courage by Australian servicemen.
His Royal Highness will also visit the National Headquarters
of the Bible Society in the city.
His Royal Highness will lunch as guest of honour with the
Commonwealth High Conissioners and their wives. / 2

On Monday evening The Prince of Wales will attend a dinner
at Government House given by the Governor-General and
Lady Coven.
His Royal Highness will undertake in the States a varied
program of engagements involving civic, scientific, acadeic,
agricultural, sporting and other interests.
Premiers will announce details of the programs in each
of the States to be visited. 000---
