STATEMENT BY ACTING PRIME MINISTER
VISIT BY PRINCESS ALEXANDRA
Princess Alexandra and her husband Mr. Angus Ogilvy will make
' meet the people' visits to regional centres as well as State
Capitals in Victoria, South Australia and Western Australia
during their forthcoming visit to Australia. They will also
visit Canberra and Alice Springs.
The visit will begin in Canberra on Sunday 28 September, after
a transit in Brisbane, and end in Perth on Wednesday 15 October.
In Melbourne on Wednesday 1 October Princess Alexandra will oTDen
tlhe Centeonary Exhibition aind the new wing of the Exhibition
Buildings and will1 then visit a number of the exhibits in the
Exhibition. At the end of the official.-program in Victoria, Princess Alexandra
and Mr. Ogilvy will spend a private weekend at ' Nareen' with the
Prime Minister and Mrs. Fraser.
on Thursday 8 October Her Royal Highness will take part in the
ceremony marking the arrival in Alice Springs of the first
passenger train to travel over the Tarcoola-Alice Springs
standard gauge line.
In Canberra, Melbourne and Perth, Princess Alexandra, who is
Patron of the Richmond Fellowship, will visit homes sponsored
by the Fellowship for disadvantaged young people.
