W. A. EARTHQUAKE
The Prime Minister has asked the Premier to pass his sympathy
to residents of Cadoux whose homes had been damaged by
earthquake. " Australia is fortunate in that earthquakes are rare occurrences
and usually are mild. It is noteworthy, however, that Cadoux
is directly north of Meckering, which was damaged severely
some years ago" Mr Fraser said.
The Premier has also been informed that any request for aid
will receive prompt and sympathetic consideration.
In the meantime close contact is being maintained with the
West Australian authorities. V L
