IRANIAN EARTHQUAKE
The Acting Prime Minister, Mr. Anthony, has sent the
following cable to the Prime Minister of Iran, Sharif Emami:
" We have learned with deep regret and shock of the earthquake
which struck the town of Tabas and its suburbs on
16 September, and is reported to have claimed as many
as 11,000 lives.
" May I offer to you, to the members of the bereaved families,
and to the Government and people of Iran, sincere
condolences and sympathy on behalf of myself and the
Government and people of Australia". 000---
