AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE COMMONWEALTH AND THE NORTHERN
LAND COUNCIL ON THE RANGER URANIUM PROJECT
I have been informed by the Chairman of the Northern Land
Council, Mr. Galarrwuy Yunupingu, that on 14 September,
1978, the Council adopted a motion approving the
Agreement with the Commonwealth f or the Ranger Uranium
Project negotiated under Section 44 of the Aboriginal
Land Rights Act and authorising the execution of the
Agreement and of the related Agreement for the lease of
the Kakadu National Park and all other related
documents. The Council will also instruct the Kakadu Land
Trust to execute all documents and do all things necessary
and incidental to give effect to this resolution.
