VISIT BY PRINCESS ALEXANDRA AND THE HON. ANGUS OGILVY
Details of the program for the visit to the Australian.
Capital Territory next week of Her Royal Highness Princess
Alexandra and her husband, the Hon. Angus Ogilvy were
released today.
Princess Alexandra and Mr. Ogilvy are scheduled to arrive
at RAAF Base Fairbairn at 10: 35 a. m. on Wednesday
September. They will be received by the Governor-General
and Lady Cowen and the Acting Prime Minister and Mrs. Anthony.
Her Royal Highness will inspect a Guard of Honour and a
twenty-one gun artillery salute will be fired.
During their stay in Canberra Her Royal Highness and her
husband will be the house guests of the Governor-General
and Lady Cowen at Government House.
On Wednesday evening Princess Alexandra and her husband
will meet about seventy young people representative of
the Australian Capital Territory at a function arranged by
the Prime Minister and Mrs. Fraser at The Lodge.
On Thursday 21 September, Princess Alexandra and Mr. Ogilvy
will have lunch at The Lodge as the guests of the
Prime Minister and Mrs. Fraser.
Princess Alexandra will lay a wreath on the Commemorative Stone
when Her Royal Highness and her husband visit the Australian
War Memorial from 3: 00 p. m. to 3: 20 p. m. on Wednesday afternoon.
They will travel via Kings Avenue, Wentworth Avenue and
Canberra Avenue to HMAS Harman arriving at 3: 30 p. m. They will
visit Kent House and afterwards have afternoon tea with
WRANS and sailors in the recreation room of Alexandra House which
Her Royal Highness opened on 23 September, 1959.
In the evening Princess Alexandra and the Hon. Angus. Ogilvy
will attend a Parliamentary Reception at Parliament House.
They will be met by the Prime Minister and 2M-rs. Fraser on
arrival at 6: 10 p. m. They are expected to leave for Government
House at approximately 7: 10 p. m. / 2

Later Her Royal Highness and the Hon. Angus Ogilvy
will be the guests of honour at a dinner given by the
Governor-General and Lady Cowen at Government House.
On Friday 22 September Princess Alexandra and her husband
will have lunch with the Commonwealth High Commissioners
and their wives at the Lakeside International Hotel.
After lunch Her Royal Highness and the Hon. Angus Ogilvy
will travel from the Lakeside International Hotel via
Parkes Way, Morsehead Drive and Pialligo Avenue to
RAAF Base Fairbairn where they will be farewelled at
2: 45 p. m. by the Governor-General and Lady Cowen and
the Prime Minister and Mrs. Fraser. 000---
