SECRETARY, DEPARTMENT OF THE PRIME MINISTER AND CABINET
The Prime Minister announced today that Mr Geoffrey Yeend, CBE,
Under-Secretary of the Department of the Prime Minister and
Cabinet and Secretary to Cabinet, has been aj-pointed Secretary
of the Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet, to succeed
the late Sir Alan Carmody, CBE.
Mr Yeend, who is fifty years of age, has been with the
Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet since 1950.
He holds a Bachelor of Commerce Degree from Melbourne University;
served with the Second AIF; and was the Australian Eisenhower
Fellow in 1971.
